It came assembled. If it holds up, it will be more than worth it's price. It did come with a marker to use to cover scratches.

For the price, you won't find a better-looking file cabinet. I'm glad I found this file cabinet. It came VERY well-packed. The free shipping (worked into the price, I'm sure) was attractive, too. Note that the "locks" on the cabinet are not really locks. They are merely a "decoration."
